Register for EXPRESS YOURSELF - SUMMER 2020
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
One of the hardest things you will do in life is to figure out who you are and how you fit into the world. It's complicated - there's who you are on the inside, and then there's who and what other people think you should be. How do you balance those things while letting your authentic self rise to the surface?
In this workshop, we'll explore who we are, and how being true to ourselves impacts our communities, and empowers those around us. Led by Marvin Shelton, a black, queer, gender non-binary teacher, we'll use this safe space to find our unique voices and tell our stories. You'll walk away with a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences, and - most importantly - where you belong.
WHEN: Monday-Friday 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, from 8/10-8/21, reading @ a time TBA - See Uptown Stories calendar.
WHERE: Remote learning via Zoom
TEACHER: Mx. Mimi Shelton
COST: A payment of $600 covers the full cost of our program, but, to ensure our workshops are accessible to all families, our tuition is pay-what-you-can.
